The Manatee is Atlantic Canada’s biggest satirical news website. Founded in October of 2014 by Shauna Chase and Alex Vietinghoff, the website quickly rose in popularity and is now a well-known name in New Brunswick and the other Maritime provinces. Volunteer writers contribute stories that are edited by Shauna (who also writes the majority of the stories). Alex takes care of the advertising, corporate affairs, and video aspects of the website, as well as contributing occasional stories and photos.

In 2015, The Manatee won a New Brunswick “Salty Social Media Award” for Coolest Blog.
